Raul & Andrea
We are Raul and Andrea and we currently reside in Spring, TX. We have lived there since 2021, and we have been married for 5 years. We have a traditional style home, that is nestled in a very quiet and tree filled neighborhood. We currently share our home with our yorkie, Kirby, and are excited to grow our family through adoption. We aim to create a heartwarming and inviting environment within our home, and always make sure to have a God centered foundation.
We both start our days by going to work, Andrea works from an office and I work from home. After work we like going to the gym, maybe a run or bike ride; and then making dinner. We enjoy spending time with friends during our time off, and going to the movies, antiquing, playing games, trying new restaurants, going for walks in a park so Kirby can also have some fun. As directors of young adults life group at our church, we are always open to any activity the group might be into doing together. Sundays we go to church and then have lunch with the life group, or hosting them or family over.
Our adoption journey began years ago. Raul was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and, by God’s grace, is now a 13-year survivor. Knowing this could impact our ability to have children, we tried for some time, but after many tests, we learned it wouldn’t be possible. Through it all, we trusted that God had a greater plan. Andrea’s heart for adoption started in childhood, growing up next to an orphanage and watching her mom love and serve the children there. As a teenager, she was diagnosed with PCOS, knowing that having children might be difficult. Even then, adoption was always placed on her heart. When we realized biological children were not in our future, we felt God clearly leading us toward adoption, something we had always considered but now felt called to pursue in faith. As we learned more, we knew open adoption aligned with our values. We are committed to providing a stable, loving, God-centered home, and we deeply respect and value the birth mom. We believe she is an important part of the child’s story and want to walk alongside her with love and support every step of the way.
We are both creative and very motivated people, we believe that academics, sports, music, etc. are all part of what we want to provide for our future child. Our hope as parents is to be able to create a safe and loving space for our child, where they can express themselves, learn and develop skills for life. We believe kids are part of our lives just as we are theirs, this baby will be doing life with us everywhere we go, when appropriate of course. We look forward to our kids achievements, who they will be, their personalities, interests, everything, and where possible we would love to make their dreams come true. If we can do one thing right, we want this child to know Jesus and have a kind heart.
