Sammy & Cole
Hi, we’re Cole and Sammy! We are appreciative and honored that you are taking the time to learn more about us! We understand that the decision you are considering is very heavy, but it is one filled with incredible courage, selflessness, and abundant love.
We were introduced in 2014 at a Christian retreat at Texas A&M. We spoke briefly, and while we didn’t stay connected, we always waved or said hi when passing each other on campus. Over a year later, Cole mentioned to a friend that he would like to date this girl named Sammy, and the friend passed along her information. Cole showed up on Sammy’s doorstep to ask her on a date. We connected instantly, and our relationship grew quickly from there! We married in 2018, and have grown to be more in love with each…

We married in 2018, and have grown to be more in love with each other in each new stage of our lives.
We have always been eager to become parents. Adoption was in the back of our minds when pregnancy posed some potential health risks for us. When those were resolved and we were able to try to have a baby, we struggled with infertility and the grief that goes along with it for a few years. A lot of time was spent in prayer asking the Lord what to do, and we heard Him clearly tell us to adopt. After obediently saying “YES!” to God’s plan for adoption, our hearts were filled with peace and excitement. We are grateful for the bravery and loving choice that will allow us to grow our family through adoption. We cannot wait to share this incredible story of love with a child!
Sammy is full of joy and can always be found with a huge smile on her face. She brings so much light to our home and relationship. She is a keen listener, a reader of many books, and a loyal and faithful friend. She is always eager to include and invest in people. This was very evident in her former role as an elementary school teacher, and even now in her work with women and families in a ministry role.
She is very active and loves an early morning run or long walk with our dog, Gus. She even completed her first marathon this year! She loves card games, spending time snuggled on the couch, and baking warm, homemade cookies.
She is resilient, tough, and full of faith. Sammy leads with empathy and compassion and can make any stranger feel welcome and at home. She is loved by all who know her, but most of all by me. Sammy is my rock in difficult times and can always be counted on.

Cole is the love of my life and very best friend! He is incredibly wise, quick-witted, reliable, and steady, and Cole is a man full of integrity and character. He may come off as reserved or quiet at first, but that’s because he listens and observes. Cole is not one to want attention, and he has a humble heart. His leadership, problem-solving, and (rare) ability to stay calm in all circumstances stand out to all who know him. This is especially an incredible asset at work, where he is a construction project manager.
Cole is a true outdoorsman and hobby-man. He loves to learn and work with his hands, and he can regularly be found outside, near a body of water, or piddling around in the garage. He is already an amazing “Uncle Cole,” and I cannot wait to see how he engages with, teaches, and loves in the role of “Dad.”

Our home is welcoming, clean, cozy, and bright. We love hosting and inviting friends and family over, and there is a large backyard with lots of room to play. Our back patio is a fun place to gather, play darts and yard games, and wind down in the evening while appreciating the beautiful sunsets we see from our porch. Our other favorite room in the house is our spacious kitchen. We both love to cook, and we enjoy making and sharing a meal together.
Gus, our precious pup, brings so much joy and laughter to our home! He is a golden retriever who was born in 2019, and he is affectionate, silly, and full of energy. Gus adores kids and will be so excited to welcome home a new buddy to play with and snuggle.
We live in a safe and active neighborhood with families of all ages and many different backgrounds. We enjoy walking on the neighborhood trails, playing tennis and pickleball on the courts down the street, and fishing in the ponds nearby.
We have an amazing support system and a community of people who care for us deeply. They have been praying over a future child for so long and will be very excited to meet and love on them! The child will be welcomed into a wonderful crew of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, lots of extended family, and many dear friends, both near and far, who feel like family.
Although we don’t live in the same town as our families, they are a short drive away and a constant in our lives. We talk regularly and make time to see family each month. We spend a lot of time each week with our friends, and those deep and rich relationships are so special to us!

We have a balanced lifestyle of hard work, play, and rest. We love to be active, whether it’s being outdoors, completing a project together, going to a sporting event, or exploring a new area, but we always make time for and enjoy a casual day at home, too. We do our best to use our time purposefully, invest in people, and enjoy the wonderful life we’ve been given!

Our faith in Jesus is extremely important to us. It is the foundation of our marriage and family, and we promise to share the love of Christ with the child. It is important for us to grow in our faith both individually and together. We are very involved in our church and other ministries by participating in small groups and Bible studies and leading serve teams. Our faith gives us hope in all areas of our lives, and we do our best to be like Jesus!
We want to reiterate that we think the decision you’re considering is full of love. We admire your strength and courage. Thank you again for taking the time to look at our book.
We truly dream of becoming parents. We have so much love for this future child and want what is best for them. We desire to build an open and healthy relationship with their birth family and believe that will be beneficial for all parties. For us, that looks like sharing updates and photos, and we prayerfully hope that someday we will all be able to meet up and stay in contact.
We promise to treat the child’s birth family with respect and care. There may be decisions that we disagree on, boundaries that need to be set, or awkward situations to come, but know that our decision-making and heart will always be for the benefit of the child. After making the decision to adopt, we have diligently prayed for their birth family. They are loved by us already, and we will always do our best to show that love.
We cannot wait to meet the child, love them, know them, and watch them grow into the amazing person they will become! We will guide them and allow them to learn from mistakes. We will support them in both the celebrations and hardships of life. Most importantly, we will model and teach them about the incredible love and grace of Jesus Christ.
